This is a video created with photographs, narrative and instrumental music in appreciation of a beautiful homestead in Norfolk, taken on a visit to meet the most welcoming local community members in the garden on a hot sunny day.
There is a wonderful ethos underlying people and communities who live in harmony with nature and
natural law
which is to cause no harm, care for the land, work with nature and look after each other as peaceful, discerning and creative members of a shared community.
It is these fundamental community values that have brought local groups and
Community Assemblies
together across the British Isles to work with each other, and with nature and
natural law. With the ongoing formation, expansion and growth of registered local Community Assemblies in association with the Community Assembly of the British Isles, we are making great progress in realising our shared
vision.
A special thanks to Nigel Webber for organising such a wonderful event and for bringing people together on
Facebook. In particular,
friends who are interested in the Community Assemblies in Norfolk and those who support
A Stand In The Park
which, I am delighted to note, has grown to represent 100,000 members across 900 parks in 20 countries.
Everyone brought picnics and gave John Gilbert and I the warmest welcome. When we presented the concept of the Community Assembly of the British Isles, the feedback was wholly positive, igniting a lively discussion and sharing of ideas which is what it's all about.
Also, many thanks to Nigel for giving me permission to work with and share photographs of his beautiful home where nature thrives and friends in the community are always welcome.
Thank you everyone for a very special day.
WELCOME! (Addendum)
We are delighted to announce that since writing this post the
Community Assembly of North Norfolk
is now enlisted as part of the CABI network. The result of local people working hard to join together to learn how to best preserve the beauty of this stunning part of the world and work together as a community .
