Community Assembly of South Yorkshire
Serving, supporting and protecting our local communities
About Us
The Community Assembly of South Yorkshire is located in an area of Yorkshire encompassing Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield with Rotherham and Sheffield comprising over half the county's population - the tenth most populous in Britain. Although the modern county of South Yorkshire was not created until 1974, its origins go back 12,800 years with a fascinating history centred around coal mining and the steel manufacturing industry.
Community Assemblies are made up of residents concerned about a lack of democratic process at a local and national level, dedicated to preserving and asserting our inalienable rights and obligations to ourselves, the Earth and future generations.
